About Dragonfly Fabrics

We are a husband and wife team who set up Dragonfly Fabrics in order to provide quality dressmaking fabrics at affordable prices. I have the fantastic job of selecting lovely dressmaking fabrics for our online shop as well as concentrating on the creative side, while my photographer husband Simon takes all our photographs and helps me run the business.

My background is in the fashion business. I worked for over 10 years in the industry in London, in various roles, including working as a seamstress and pattern cutter for Vivienne Westwood. The idea for setting up an online fabric shop for dressmaking fabric came once I started my local sewing classes. I found it difficult to find quality dressmaking fabric that I liked either online or in the local shops, so I starting sourcing fabric for the sewing classes, and for myself. As our range expanded, we decided to set up our own online fabric shop.

I love sewing and have many years of experience so I am happy to help if you have any questions about dressmaking fabric or queries about your projects, please email me. I love to hear from you and see what you have made. dorte@dragonflyfabrics.co.uk

Dressmaking Fabrics

Our fabrics include a lovely selection of natural fabrics such as eco/ and bio linens, a large range of boiled wool fabric and wool blends, dress cotton fabrics, bamboo jersey knit as well as viscose and cotton knit jerseys, soft cotton voiles, rayons, finecords, flannels along with a great selection of dress patterns and haberdashery.

With the popularity of dressmaking as shown by the Great British Sewing Bee we look forward to increasing our range of dressmaking fabrics as well as fabrics by our favourite designers such as Anna Maria Horner, Amy Butler, Heather Ross, Leah Duncan, also classic cotton prints from Westfalenstoffe and the popular Robert Kaufman collections.
